The Spice of Life!

I don't like picking favorites but this spice is absolutely amazing. Everyone I have talked to that uses it feels the difference in their body when they run out and don't have a new supply. It is super versatile so there are a wide variety of uses for it but it's health benefits is the most impressive part. Every single ingredient serves a purpose in this unique blend and I don't want to make this post super long so I am just going to give you a quick overview of each ingredients health benefits. This spice was created to fight inflammation. Many studies have now found that the common denominator behind all diseases is that they are caused by inflammation. If you think about this logically it means that if we can keep our inflammation levels low that it will prevent disease and ease any aches, pains, or issues we are currently struggling with.

Turmeric is an all natural anti-inflammatory, antibiotic, antiseptic and analgesic. It is well known for reducing arthritis pain, and preventing Parkinson's, Alzheimers, and strokes. It also improves digestion, increases fat metabolism and bile production and lowers cholesterol.

Ginger is best known for it's ability to eliminate nausea and motion sickness. Like turmeric it is a wonderful anti-inflammatory and research studies have now shown that it works just as quickly and effectively as over-the-counter anti-inflammatories. Many people with osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis experience a significant decrease in pain levels when incorporating ginger into their daily routine. It also helps fight cold and flus and will help improve absorption and assimilation of essential nutrients in your body.

Cinnamon was once more valuable than gold! Cinnamon helps stabilize blood sugar levels which helps with weight loss and diabetes. Just a 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon a day can lower your bad cholesterol levels. Simply the smell of cinnamon can boost cognitive function and improve memory which is why I tend to use the Spice of Life in my morning cup of Chaga Coffee. I want my brain to function at it's peak each day!

Coconut Sap is a raw, very low glycemic sweetener. It is an abundant source of minerals, vitamin B, vitamin C, and 17 amino acids. It is very high in glutamine which is great for healing, reducing pain related to sore muscles, and improving the health of the digestive and nervous system. It's also beneficial for anxiety and depression.

Black Seed is known as the remedy for everything but death. Like turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon it is a potent anti-inflammatory. Taken daily it can decrease insulin resistance to help Type 2 Diabetes. It has been used throughout the ages to suppress coughs, treat kidney stones, relieve diarrhea and stomach pain.

Black Pepper helps your body absorb and use turmeric better but it also has it's own benefits. It increases hydrochloric acid production in the stomach to improve digestion, it helps breakdown fat cells, and it is a diuretic that will help you flush toxins out quicker.

Cayenne Pepper has many medicinal benefits. It is well known for it's ability to reduce pain. It inhibits both sensory and pain nerves making it great for arthritis and migraines. It helps improve digestion, boost metabolism, lower cholesterol, and reduces blood pressure. The heat of cayenne helps improve circulation and it is a natural antibiotic so it will help you fight a cold or upper respiratory infection much faster.

This post really just grazes the multitude of health benefits in the ingredients that make up the Spice of Life. Each ingredient is pretty potent in terms of medicinal benefits and quite a bit of research has been done in the past few years to prove the efficacy of these herbs. I am working on a small e-book that will go over the health benefits of each ingredient in much greater detail but if this was enough to make you want to give it a try, you can buy the Spice of Life on Etsy.
